When you think of Nike Basketball’s Uptempo series from the mid/late ’90s, ostentatious jeweled midsoles instantly come to mind, with many of the releases also featuring heel-to-toe Max Air cushioning. That’s a pretty good baseline description for the Nike Air Max Uptempo 97, a model that’s enjoyed its fair share of retro releases over the past several months and is now back in an all new colorway for summer. Also called the Air Max Uptempo III, this new edition echoes the OG ‘College Blue’ blocking pattern but swaps out that signature shade for a teal shade that’s nicely accentuates for this model’s infamous ‘teardrops’.
