While many of the colorways from Ken Griffey Jr.’s Nike Sportswear retro releases are tied to his playing days with the Seattle Mariners (and Cincinnati Reds, to a lesser extent), many of the looks from his upcoming hybrid model are conspicuous by their non-compliance. Check out the latest Nike Air Max JR, a colorway that you’d expect to see on a pair of Jordans before Griffeys. Their black, white and Photo Blue getup is vaguely UNC leaning and reminiscent of the popular ‘True Blue’ Air Jordan III that just saw a retro drop, though the Torch-equipped and 360-degree Max Air-cushioned design will probably perform best as a cross trainer. Or just rock em in the streets; it’ll be your call once these hit US NSW retailers, and you can see more images when you click on the jump below. via LTD
