Friday is finally here. Even a holiday-shortened week is tough to get through, so the Sneaker News staff hopes that the long work days were made just a bit easier with our top coverage of all things sneakers. Of course, the biggest stories thus far came from the Nike LeBron camp, with the Nike LeBron 9 surfacing and the sick new colorway of the LeBron 8 V/2 Low making headlines. Other big news came from Jordan Brand as well, like the Aqua colorway of the Air Jordan 8.0, and a commemorative collection of footwear and apparel for Derek Jeter’s 3,000th hit (yet to come). Nike SB previewed its 2012 releases at the Bright Trade Show, but arriving a bit earlier than next year are three new colorways of the Zoom Kobe VI. Other Nike Basketball shoes made heads as well, like the orange/grey sample of the Hyperforce, and the first look at the Air Max Hyperdunk 2011.
Nike continues its dominance of sneaker-related news with its Nike Trainer/Football Summit that went down in Portland, which featured NFL great Jerry Rice and hip-hop artist Ace Hood. Nike Sportswear also caught our attention with a nice preview of upcoming releases like the VT Premium Pack, the Air Royaltna, and the Hurley x Air Max 90 collaboration. Two of adidas’ major capsules were noteworthy as well, as we caught a look at the Fall 2011 Star Wars releases and the 2012 Preview of the Jeremy Scott designs. We also got a look at two big sneaker events – one that was held at the grand Cowboys Stadium and the cozy La Cartonnerie in Paris. And finally, another week meant more sneaker releases, all of which were summarized neatly in this week’s Sneaker News Weekly Buyer’s Guide. Check out the rest of the Weekly Rewind and let us know what your favorite Sneaker News story was!
