The Holiday 2011 season is typically the busiest time of the year, and all the news that surfaced over the last week is a clear sign that the final two months of the year will be filled with great releases and breaking stories. Starting off, Sneaker News brought you a look at a sample of the Air Jordan 2012, the twenty-seventh installment of the Air Jordan legacy. Going from ‘fresh’ to ‘classic’, a number of upcoming 2012 Retro releases like the Cool Grey XII and White/Red/Black Air Jordan XI Low were featured this week. The Nike LeBron 9 is projected to be one of the major players of the Holiday season, as LeBron himself debuted the ‘Cannon’ colorway during the South Florida All-Star Classic – an exhibition game jam-packed with NBA stars. Kobe Bryant, who did not participate in the SFC, wore the Nike Zoom Kobe VII during a trip to the Nike Campus. We also learned that there will be not two, but three different Zoom Kobes for this cycle. The third head of the Nike Basketball trio made news as well, as we got a look at a Mint Candy and Cool Grey version of the KD IV.
The long-awaited release of the ‘Vino Rosso’ Janoski is part of Nike SB’s October Quickstrikes, joined by the ‘Patagonia’ Dunk Mids and the ‘U.S. Passport’ Dunk Lows. One Nike SB to note is the Vulc Rod, one of the six models in the Nike x Doerbecher Freestyle 2011 collection, which was unveiled last Saturday. More Nike Sportswear news included the Nike Air Force 1 Deconstruct, a Summer 2012 release that features a slimmed-down lining that leaves just the suede upper shell. It was a solid week for other Nike athletes, like Manny Pacquiao, who will have the Nike Trainer Max 1.3 Breathe released under his name, and Amare Stoudemire, who debuted his unofficial signature shoe titled the Air Max Sweep Thru. Some extra features like Celebrity Feet, with Kanye West and Jay-Z, a list of the fifty best sneaker collaborations, which included notables like Supreme and Stussy, and a recap of Sneaker Pimps DC 2011 filled out the rest of this exciting week, so stop in with Sneaker News Weekly Rewind to get caught up on all relevant kicks-related news.
