Should skateboarding historians count Christian Hosoi among the skaters whose footwear preferences were strongly influenced by Air Jordans? If you were to look over Hosoi’s collaborations with Vans on the Legends Pack, you’d see him rely on black and red and/or black and royal blue colorways, both of which were prominently featured on the original Air Jordan 1 he’s depicted wearing in countless classic photos. All of this MJ-infusion in the past is what makes Hosoi’s Vans SK8-His so unique despite their simple designs. Navy/white and tonal black getups seem far enough out of the Christ Air originator’s expected range that they’re a nice surprise for the holiday season, and you’ll find them soon at select Off the Wall retailers. via FNG
