Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite – Black – Red

You’ve gotta give credit where it’s due to Reebok’s Affili’art Collection, a capsule that’s spawned some fairly forgettable collaborations, and yet, continues to give the spotlight to an artist with whom so few of our sneakerhead peers are familiar, some speak about the releases as if Tupac is still alive and recording.  But Jean-Michel Basquiat’s very essence is to a significant degree bound up in the fact that he passed at such a young age, and it’s that indomitably exuberant youthfulness that RBK captures so well in these Basquiat ‘collabs’.  The latest is a Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite that appropriates the artist’s signature crown emblem in the middle word of ‘I Am Basquiat’ on a bold bred backdrop, complemented by a silhouette of his easily-recognizable hair stitched into the heel.  Look at them more closely after the jump then find these and the other Basquiat Reeboks from this season at RBK retailers like Wish.
