It was just about one year ago that Sneaker News brought you evidence of then-upcoming releases from adidas Originals that showed a fairly strong trend toward utilizing wild animal prints on their beloved classic silhouettes. We got a look at two different Big Sean collabo Superstar shelltoe designs back in October whose subsequent disappearance suggests a release date sometime later this year, and now here comes even more momentum for the Three Stripes safari into 2012. The Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ is named appropriately for its use of leopard print horse hair on the uppers next to snakeskin scales on the side panel Stripes, but also as an indication of other similar designs to come as part of the summer ’12 collection.
