We talk alot about sneakers having some sort of ‘inspiration’ behind them, and more often than not, it’s some kind of pop culture reference that reflects the nostalgic attention to detail that unites sneakerheads. But in the case of this new Vans Vault Chukka Boot and Era, we’re seeing a design that has its roots in one man’s quest for a life in harmony with the natural world. Kicks/HI teamed up with fellow 50th stater Sig Zane to bring to live the ‘Makua to Makai’ Pack that takes us from ‘mountains to sea’ with a couple of Zane’s distinctive patterns that connect us with Hawaii’s unique and beautifully holistic culture.
