Tales From The Kitchen: Nike Free

Nike Free Tales Tobie

“It was time…to free the foot.”

While Nike Free didn’t debut until 2004, the story of the Free goes back much further than you’d expect. What started with Nike Innovation Director Tobie Hatfield’s vision ended with the Nike Free, which revolutionized ‘natural movement’ in a performance sneaker as it gave the athlete a pure barefoot running experience while providing lightweight cushion and protection. Since the debut of the Nike Free 5.0, we’ve seen various levels of Free support, and with its availability on Nike iD, the athlete can create the most distinct Free running shoe in terms of comfort and colorway. Nike opens up its Tales From The Kitchen once more for this interesting featurette, so check out the under-three-minute video below to grasp the entire Nike Free history and let us know where the Nike Free ranks among Nike’s greatest running shoes of all-time!
