The campaign to promote Breast Cancer Awareness has gained an immense amount of steam over the last decade, starting from the tiny pink ribbons pinned to shirt collars to apparel brands creating pinked-out collections that directly support the research fund. The idea of ‘thinking pink’ has spilled over to footwear, as Nike Sportswear plans to release an all-pink Foamposite One in late November, although no ties to a charitable organization have been established. Does Nike plan to connect these to the Kay Yow fund, or is Nike just taking advantage of an undeniable ‘trendy’ colorway, regardless of what it represents? Another detail to note is that the official color is indeed Polarized Pink rather than ‘Pearlized Pink’, although that doesn’t make any sort of change as to how impactful these will be once they release.
