There’s some serious overlapping between the mindsets and populations of the sneakerhead and toy collecting subcultures, and Vans’ latest collaboration manages a playful crossover blending its own brand of cool with the kind of aesthetics that’ll send you back to childhood memories. Crafted by Garageworks founder Chris Kong, these new Vans OTW Alomars have a definite ’80s action sports influence with a checkerboard print on the soles of a bold red and blue pig suede/ballistic nylon build.
