Nike Basketball re-issues have been steadily dominating the scene thanks to names like Penny and Barkley, but this upcoming Retro release bears no name. In fact, it came during an era of Nike Basketball in which signature names weren’t the dominant force, but instead the concept car-like constructions from the Alpha Project distinguished by the minimalistic yet futurustic five-dot markings. The Nike Zoom Hyperflight, like many non-sig basketball shoes in the Nike catalog, has a heavy cult following due to its spage age design and its involvement in that legendary Nike Freestyle ad and its connection to Jason ‘White Chocolate’ Williams.

Sneaker News first broke the news on the return of the Nike Hyperflight back in October, and along with three special colorways representing Nike’s Big Three, a fourth colorway was confirmed as part of a ‘Superhero’ Pack. This version pops out with the sick graphic that begins at the toe, giving off the visual of incredible speed – like a space pod returning back to earth at incalculable speeds. Was this fourth colorway created with former Nike athlete Blake Griffin in mind? And if this is indeed part of the Superhero Pack, which NBA player do you think deserves this spot among LeBron, Kobe, and KD? Check out the first look at the upcoming Nike Hyperflight release (tentatively scheduled for March 29th) and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates.
