The Asics retro category will balloon a little bit in the near future, as the Asics Gel Kayano is set to joint the crop of heritage pairs that they’ll offer at retail. The model made its debut in 1993, and the 20 year gestation period leading up to the forthcoming re-issue has been pretty kind to the silhouette. The sneakers don’t feature the split tongue a la some of Asics older fare, but do indeed feature the familiar neoprene bootie.
