Complex continues its week-long feature of State of Sneakers with a great discussion on the past, present, and future of sneakers, with great input by some of the insiders of the industry. We’re talking bloggers, collectors, store owners, and everyone else in-between, so it’s definitely an interesting read when it comes to discovering the personal opinions of those who were lucky enough to turn this sneaker hobby into fun careers. We’ve got a sample of some notable fellas and their highlight quotes below, so take a look and head to Complex for the full feature.
Bobbito Garcia: “I come from a different era where it was more important to make a statement with the shoes you had on, not the ones in your hand while taking a photo.”
DJ Clark Kent: “I just wish kids liked sneakers for sneakers instead of liking them because of the hype.”
Franalations: “It’s gonna take a brand-new creative idea specifically for this demographic of shopper in order to make real change.”
Ben Baller: “I still hold world records for selling kicks; I became rich off of selling sneakers.”
Tyree Dillihay: “But the reality is… if you’re willing to spend the money, you can have all the limited sneakers you damn well please.”
