From full-length Zoom to unexposed, the cushioning system from LeBron 10 to LeBron 11 is a drastic – and heady – move by designer Jason Petrie.
The branding on the shoe (the Swoosh and LeBron James crown logo) is connected with a meticulous texture, adding an extra level of precision to the LeBron 11 design.
Aesthetically, the Nike LeBron 11 is almost a continuation of the Posite releases from the Alpha Project, in which designer Jason Petrie made his first bearings at Nike.
The heel lacks any sort of branding. Instead, a small Armorposite island provides a nice detail and functional purpose.
One of the more understated details of the LeBron signature line is the herringbone traction. See here is a new hexagonal pattern with dots lining up with the pressure points and grooves to provide flexion for decoupling.
Dynamic Flywire makes a return on the LeBron 11, exposed at the lace-eyelets and through small, triangular windows on the upper.
Additional views of the Flywire loops reveals a strong lock-down capability of the LeBron 11.
The toe-box of the LeBron 11 features an asymmetrical placement of the Posite material, with the Swoosh sitting on the medial side of the toe.
For this colorway of the LeBron 11, a contrasting speckling print dots the entire Armorposite upper for a fine effect.
LeBron James’ signature is engraved in the mid-foot plate – a detail that is a nod to the LeBron 11.
Hyperfuse provides ample ventilation on both the medial and lateral walls.
The all-important Swoosh is placed in a unique position once again, sitting slightly skewed on the upper.
The edges of the outsole add to the chiseled effect of the Armoposite-built LeBron 11 upper.
Breathabililty is certainly not an issue, as is the weight; the LeBron 11 is surprisingly lightweight.
