Gary Payton’s signature line was always as interesting as his style of play, so much so that Nike went and reinvented a retro inspired model to appease the fans hungry for more from the All-Star point guard. What we got was the Nike Zoom Sonic Flight, a sneaker that channelled its 90s influence quite well with a number of releases referencing The Glove’s teams over the years. Today’s iteration of the Nike Sonic Flight doesn’t immediately call a squad to mind thanks to an ambiguous navy base, grey mudguard, and volt lining.
