Michael Jordan’s comeback from his first retirement. His new number 45. His 55 point performance against the New York Knicks in only his fifth game back. All this lore from MJ’s legacy is back this month in the form of two recreated pieces of his most important equipment that March of 1995: the Air Jordan X and his #45 Chicago Bulls jersey. Each looking like they could have just came off the court the night of March 28, 1995 when Michael dropped 55 on the Knicks, Jordan Brand brings back the remastered Air Jordan 10 Retro in the original “Chicago” colorway complete with #45 embroidered on each heel, while Mitchell & Ness offers up the matching road Bulls jersey in red.
With an interesting twist, this is actually the first time both of these artifacts from Jordan’s past have been re-released. The Chicago Air Jordan 10 colorway has released before, but never with the #45 detailing. Longtime throwback supplier Mitchell & Ness has, of course, released Jordan jerseys before, but never with the #45. It’s no coincidence that the shoes and jersey both happen to be releasing now, as this March 28th is the twenty year anniversary of Micheal’s “Double Nickel” performance in the Garden. Enjoy this look at both pieces of recreated relics of Jordan history, and remember that the jersey releases on the anniversary of MJ’s return to the NBA, March 19th, and the Air Jordan 10 follows on the date of the 55-point performance on March 28th.
The Air Jordan 10 “Chicago” releases at select Jordan Brand retailers on March 28th for $190.
