Yohji Yamamoto continues to experiment under his adidas Y-3 label, giving us a head-turning design one day, and relying on Boost technology the next. adidas has showcased that their Boost cushioning system isn’t just a performance enhancing addition to their silhouettes, but also that it can be sustained on lifestyle ready models. We saw it with the adidas Yeezy and now Yohji is taking the tech to task with two new silhouettes for Fall/Winter 2015. Above we see the cleverly named adidas Y-3 Desert Boost, a shoe that takes the desert boot construction to task in a premium black calfskin leather upper atop a Boost midsole. It’d be hard to pass up a mention at how Kobe 9-like the Hayworth Guard is, as the towering skytop of a boot has a familiar basketball feel to it.
