It looks like Liquid Gold could be arriving on the Asics Gel Lyte V later this summer. For a shoe that’s been at its most successful when brands toy around with luxurious materials rooted in lifestyle wear, this has to be one of the most flamboyant takes on the running silhouette in quite some time. The Liquid Metal theme will always be associated with Nike Sportswear, but we’ve actually seen Asics adopt the trend with Ronnie Fieg’s “KFE” Asics Gel Lyte III counterpart which helped celebrate the World Cup happenings last summer. The precious metal treatment definitely works wonders on the 1993 classic retro running silhouette, as a metallic sheen can be found throughout to mesh perfectly with the synthetic suede on the toe. What do you think of Asics latest head-turning aesthetic? Be sure to stay tuned for a potential release, but for now this pair is just in the sample stages.
