It’s great to see ASICS open up its archives to allow even more retro running creations to see the light of day, and that’s exactly what the brand did with the ASICS Gel Respector. The shoe was the successor to the ASICS Gel Lyte III, a rather tough act to follow up, so it’s no surprise that the model has been floating around in sneaker purgatory until this year. The latest “White Mamba” rendition utilizes the popular premium synthetic snakeskin in an homage to one of the deadliest snakes on planet earth. We’ve seen this aesthetic a handful of times before, but when combined with this oft-forgotten running model, the pristine while scales and buttery light grey leather detailing manages to shed new skin. The Gel Respector will be available at select retailers like Feature Sneaker Boutique this weekend.
