WTAPS has a design ethos of “Place things where they should be.” And that’s exactly what they did yet again for their latest team-up with Vans Vault this fall. Containing new color interpretations for the Era, Sk8-Hi, and Old Skool, WTAPS crafts another collection guaranteed to be sought after by Vans enthusiasts and followers of the premium Japanese streetwear brand. Making sure to use the original design specifications of each of the three models included, the Era, Sk8-Hi, and Old Skool feature the same fit, padding density, width, and foxing height as their original vintage releases. The collection begins with unique new looks for the Era OG LX featuring a color block inspired by Japanese school uniform and “uwabaki” concept with all-white uppers and either solid green, red, or blue sole units that signify a student’s grade level. Next, the Sk8-Hi OG LX is presented in a look homaging the original Vans Caballero, featuring the same embossed reptile suede as the classic Steve Caballero signature shoe from 1989 and presented in two colorways of all-black and black/olive. The collection is completed with the Old Skool (officially Style 36 OG LX) in tonal suede looks that extend down to the sole in black, navy, and burgundy. The WTAPS x Vans Vault Fall 2015 collection releases globally at select Vans Vault retailers on September 12, 2015.
