New Balance has taken their Connoisseur Collections to some strange places in the past, with inspirations ranging from vintage guitars, pinball machines, and more. This Fall/Winter the retro running brand will focus on a more apt inspiration for the colder months: vintage skiing and the lodges that housed the adventurous despite the weather. The MiUSA Connoisseur Collection takes aim at vintage ski sweaters, hats, and jackets with uppers done up in tonal suede and mesh with reflective hits and colorful accent splashes. The New Balance 996, New Balance 997, and New Balance 998 all take part with premium aesthetics in tow. Then there’s the MiUSA Distinct Collection, as it harkens back to the glory days of competitive skiing in the 50s and 60s with a flare for the vintage dramatic in the form of rich textiles and textured twills. The New Balance 990 and New Balance 988 join the party here.
