The proper recipe of crafting a well-done sneaker collaboration always starts with a rich back-story that serves as the backbone of the concept. Ronnie Fieg isn’t new to that idea and his work with brands like ASICS and New Balance typically reflect that clean formula that the sneaker community worldwide has come to love. His next project is a much larger undertaking as he joins forces with David Fischer of High Snobiety to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the influential menswear/culture blog, and at the middle of it are two outstanding renditions of the Puma RF698, a mid-cut version of the R698 running shoe. Both pairs of the Puma RF698 release on September 25th so enjoy a detailed gallery here and access the in-depth interview with Ronnie and David by Gary Warnett on the official microsite here. Full release details are below.
Each pair is packaged inside a custom box displaying graphics of each trainer’s respective country. These boxes also effectively double as standing magazine holders, tying the entire story together, and allowing customers to exhibit their Highsnobiety Magazine collection in proper fashion.
A special KITH-edition of Highsnobiety’s 10th Anniversary Issue will accompany in- store pairs of purchased sneakers.
100 copies will be included – at random to select online orders – of both pairs of sneakers via Kithnyc.com.
Produced in very limited quantities, this mag features a black cover with a metallic silver KITH logo that scratches off to reveal a split USA-Germany flag graphic.
Retailing retailing at $160 USD, will be available on Friday, September 25 2015 at KITH Manhattan (644 Broadway), KITH Brooklyn (233 Flatbush Ave), Soto Berlin (Torstraße 72) and online at KithNYC.com at 11AM EST.
