New Balance turns to vintage skiing apparel and accessories for inspiration for their latest ‘Connoisseur’ collection of classic silhouettes, which includes this premium take on the 990. The shoe that was once the epitome of luxury in running footwear during the early 1980’s is made up in a colorway and materials inspired by vintage ski jackets and apparel. The construction features a clean blend of high quality suede, leather, and tweed with brown Horween leather in a hue reminiscent of vintage wooden ski poles. The 990 “Retro Ski” is available now at finer New Balance retailers, including Sneaker Politics.
