Under Armour might have Nike beat in one category – athlete representation. Not only do they have several reigning MVPs rocking the UA logo, but the Baltimore brand has one of most dominant athletes of the 20th century in Michael Phelps. With countless individual accomplishments on a global scale, Phelps is undoubtedly the “Michael Jordan” of the swimming pool, and this recent article by Adweek explores his relationship to Under Armour and why he’s always been a UA guy. One important tidbit of info dropped in this piece is that Steph Curry, Under Armour’s most important athlete, is signed through the brand through 2024, which is more or less the duration of Steph’s career.
