Tinker Hatfield Transforms His Least Favorite Design, The Air Jordan 15, For Kubo Collaboration

Tinker Hatfield, we’re in the same boat with ya: we hate the Air Jordan 15 too. In a candid interview, the legendary designer admits that his least favorite design of the portfolio is the the woven, swooped tongue sneaker that came immediately after Michael Jordan called it a career (at least in a Bulls uniform). To celebrate the upcoming release of LAIKA’s Kubo film, Tinker got the opportunity to rework the shoe, and does so rather forwardly by adding a zipper construction as well as cleaner inner ankle bootie. Also reflecting the movie’s good-vs-evil nature is the alternating color-blocking of the shoes. Release info for the Kubo x Air Jordan 15 hasn’t been revealed yet, but one way to secure a pair if to play the Moon Beast game on the film’s official website here and getting a high score.
