The New Balance 999 had a strong collaborative run in past years, and the iconic running model just started getting a more focused release slate this past Spring 2016 season. While the likes of Sneaker Politics, Concepts, and more have all had their hand at transforming the New Balance 999 for a luxe lifestyle interpretation in the past, today we get a look at an in-house colorway featuring a new textile – waxed canvas.
The NB 999 benefits from the unique combination of vibrant red waxed canvas on the toe and a bolstered black suede for a truly head-turning edition. Synthetic leather also plays a defined role here on the heel and lining while that signature reflective paneling is demoted to just the blocking around the ‘N’ logo. New Balance even mixes things up further by adding a light grey midsole for a slight contrast to the normal white.
