31 years ago today, the legend of the “Banned” Air Jordans began. Since then, the infamous black/red Air Jordan 1 has been an annual celebration for sneakerheads, but earlier this August the story was retold in conjunction with the debut of the Jordan 31. Today, in celebration of the original banning, Jordan Brand is restocking the Air Jordan 1 “Banned”, with a limited release of the shoes and accompanying apparel occurring right now at a pop-up shop at 108 Wooster St. in New York City. In addition, a limited “Satin” Air Jordan 1 will be available, rumored to be limited to 500 pairs. There’s bound to be more in store today, so stay tuned.
