It looks like adidas is really excited about the Chinese New Year this year. We’ve already seen the Ultra Boost drop in a special makeup, and the EQT Support 93/16 is coming soon in a special colorway and packaging for the Year of the Rooster. Now we learn that the Three Stripes are dropping at least three more special Chinese New Year sneakers for 2017, the Stan Smith, Superstar, and Tubular Radial. All three in matching colorways, the trio feature all black uppers—in leather for the Stan Smith and Superstar and a mix of leather and neoprene for the Tubular Radial—with contrasting white soles and special “feathered” cut leather detailing at the heels to mimic the look of a roosters feathers. Each also receives a rooster graphic embroidery for an extra festive touch. No official release date has been revealed yet, but expect the Year of the Rooster pack to arrive at adidas Originals retailers in the USA soon.
