If you push something far enough, it becomes original again. That’s the central thesis of this new video directed by Johannes Leonardo for adidas Originals, which features transcendent icons of music, sports, and fashion handing down their global influence to the new generation of stars. This short film, ninety seconds of sensory overload, features re-interpretations of several cultural classics, from Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle album artwork to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”. adidas Originals has done the same with their footwear; the massively popular NMD is, of course, inspired by past icons of the adidas footwear archive, while the new adidas EQT line transforms the original focus from the 90s to fit today’s scene.
