The Nike Zoom Modairna Is Inspired By Gary Payton’s “The Glove”

Nike Sportswear’s women’s department takes some inspiration from an unlikely source for this new silhouette: a men’s basketball shoe from the late 1990s. If you know Nike’s late ’90s hoops catalog you can probably already guess that it’s the Zoom Flight ’98 AKA “The Glove” that inspires the sleek shrouded Zoom Modairna, which features a perforated one-piece leather upper atop a full-length visible Zoom Air sole. The result is a bold yet feminine take on the classic basketball model. The unique new Zoom Modairna will be available on march 18th in its debut Vachetta Tan, Triple Black, and Thunder Blue colorways at select Nike Sportswear retailers.
