Kobe Is Retired, But His Shoe Might Still Make The Finals

Nike Kobe Ad Big Stage White Gold Gum 1

Kobe Bryant is 100% retired, but his latest signature shoe is still ready for an NBA Finals appearance with the “Big Stage” colorway. The clean and pristine white, metallic gold, and gum-soled colorway of the Nike Kobe AD is the perfect edition of the shoe to make an appearance on the big stage, but whether it will actually show up in the Finals is a matter of if anybody will wear them.

If the NBA playoffs are as predictable as they usually are, it’s going to be Cavs vs. Warriors in the Finals, and none of the players on those two teams consistently wear the Kobe AD like players like DeMar DeRozan and Isaiah Thomas do. But there’s a few candidates who might lace up the glimmering gold colorway, including Andre Iguodala and Iman Shumpert, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Whether or not the Kobe AD “Big Stage” appears in the Finals, you can own your own pair when they release at select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com on June 3rd. Get an official look at the shoe here, and mark that date on your calendar if you need a pair.
