Updated on August 15th, 2017: The Nike Zoom Flight Bonafide “Plum” releases on August 18th, 2017 for $150.

The Nike Zoom Flight 95 was one of the most sought after basketball designs from the golden era of Nike’s hoops imprint. It wasn’t hard to see why with that bold carbon fiber-laden midsole featuring ‘bug eyes’ for an alien-like design. NikeLab recently updated the silhouette with a number of lifestyle-minded premium treatments to a rather lukewarm response. The people that were originally in love with the shoe weren’t necessarily looking for pastel pink shades and micro-perforated leather – they just wanted the OGs back (we can’t blame them).

Another interesting update has been the Nike Zoom Flight Bonafide, a Flyknit rendition that utilizes a zippered backing and sock-like fit around the ankle for a more modern appeal. While we wouldn’t recommend playing in a pair, plenty of tonal shades have made for a truly interesting look that blends casual elements with new and old technologies alike. Today we get a look at the Zoom Flight Bonafide Plum featuring purple hints on the bug eyes, a white midsole, and a subtle violet tone throughout the upper for a clean look.
