Mike’s time playing baseball was short-lived, but it was historic enough to warrant a number of references throughout his signature sneaker line years later. Jordan Brand has featured a “Birmingham Barons” colorway on a number of models ranging from the Jordan 1 to the Jordan 9 (given that this was the signature sneaker that Mike wasn’t wearing after his abrupt retirement). Now the Jumpman is going the premium route with the Jordan 9 Baseball Glove, two new woven leather options that will release July 15th in mystery box style special edition packaging where you won’t know whether you received the black pair or the brown leather option featuring rarer 35 PE branding on the heel. Now we’re seeing the updated oversized Jumpman hangtag for the first time to add another element surprise into the mix. There’s no word yet on how expensive the Jordan 9 Baseball Glove will be, but given the luxurious woven leather upper inspired by Mike’s fielding glove, expect Pinnacle-esque prices.
