Update: The Nike Vapormax CS is releasing in Asia on November 2nd. The U.S. retail price will be under $190 USD.
While Nike enthusiasts and sneakerheads are ready to embrace the brand’s new innovations and technology sight unseen, the general population typically takes longer (much, much longer) to accept the challenge of trying on a different pair of shoes. Air Max, Shox, Flyknit – whatever new shoe tech that Nike rolled out took 2-3 years for it to hit the mainstream, so we’re not all that surprised that the Vapormax isn’t hitting bloated sales numbers. One of the ways a new technology reaches is the masses is when a lower-priced entry-level option is produced, and this new Vapormax model might just be the one that’ll get everyone aboard the Vapormax train.
Given that this new model doesn’t feature Nike’s premium-end Flyknit, we figure a lower retail price would be attached to the shoe – perhaps in the $150-170 range. That’s a much more palatable figure than the $190 base price for the Vapormax Flyknit. With much heavily invested in the future of Vapormax, this funky Air bubble should eventually be attainable at multiple price-points, because keeping it expensive is not exactly the best method to gain new followers. See below for a Triple-Black and Blue/Black colorway and we’ll notify you with release date info soon.
