In 2017, adidas remixed the classic shop/brand collaboration with their Consortium Sneaker Exchange, and year-long campaign that connected the most respected and renowned sneaker boutiques from around the world. Unified by a singular concept created by both entities, these designs raised the bar to a level far above what we’ve come to expect from a shoe collab. Perhaps saving the best for last, adidas connected Taiwan’s Invincible, fresh off their own NMD release with Neighborhood, with Atlanta’s A Ma Maniere for the Ultra Boost and NMD R1 Primeknit.
The Ultra Boost is treated with a fully uncaged upper with the three stripes protruding from the Primeknit body, leather detailing on the tongue and interior lining, and co-branded tongue tabs. The NMD’s Primeknit upper makes use of the classic Ultra Boost pattern with the same raised textures on the stripes and white-out bumpers on the midsole.
This concluding adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange is set to release at Invincible and A Ma Maniere on December 9th, with a global Consortium release scheduled for December 16th.
