Complex’s Joe La Puma recently hit up Stadium Goods with Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali where they discussed Ali’s love for kicks and his thoughts on how the culture has changed. Mahershala talks about falling in love with the Air Jordan 2 and never getting the chance to own a pair of the Jordan 1. He also talks about the shoes he rocked on-court, including the not-so-likely Nike Air Tech Challenge II. Mahershala mentions that he doesn’t like to wear sneakers to auditions in fear of not being taken seriously, a concern he attributes to the perception of black people in popular culture. The “Moonlight” star discusses all that and more in his shopping excursion with Complex, which you can check out in its entirety below.
