adidas is finishing off its 2017 campaign with the introduction of the brand new Prophere silhouette – a design that features a bold sculpted midsole with a thick three-stripe mark on its side. Fully equipped with a raw-edge leather heel cage, it is complimented with a one-piece black, soft knit upper construction and finished off with some of adidas’ technical innovations.
“With Prophere we wanted to take a different view of our archive and looked to the unapologetic aesthetic of the 90s, when the brand experimented with bold silhouettes,” Nic Galway, adidas Originals SVP of Global Design said. “With this silhouette, we connect the same energy of the nineties with the new generation.”
The Brand with the Three Stripes has a propensity for molding the old with the new, as it has been a time-tested strategy adidas has implemented on its increasingly popular EQT series. While this particular model is heavier than most other iterations in the Trefoil brand family, it does utilize certain elements that have made adidas successful.
