ASICS Debuts The GEL-Mai In A High-Cut Sock

ASICS’ GEL-Mai sneaker, a shoe that offers an aesthetic unlike anything else on the market has arrived in a brand-new, high-cut sock silhouette titled the GEL-Mai MT. The shoe features a black knit upper with a high collar reminiscent of a Nike Mercurial Flyknit that’s held together with a black leather midfoot cage/lacing system and a plastic piping that locks the heel down for a better fit. The sock-like upper sits on top of a white/sail midsole and outsole, and futher accents are provided by minimal ASICS branding and two white stripes on the collar. There’s no US release info for this new GEL-Mai yet, but if you’re a fan of the shoe’s unique look you can grab a pair from atmos for ￥20,000 (roughly $187 USD).
