NBA Players Can Wear Any Color Sneaker This Upcoming Season

NBA Players Can Wear Any Color Sneaker This Upcoming Season

In the 1984-1985 season, the NBA banned Michael Jordan’s black and red shoes for not following team uniform guidelines. For the upcoming 2018-2019 campaign, any combination of colors on Air Jordans (or any sneaker for that matter) is a go. According to ESPN, the NBA will allow players to wear any sneaker color at any point throughout the season. This rule hasn’t exactly been strictly enforced over the years as many superstars with signature shoe lines with Nike, Jordan, adidas, Under Armour, and more have rotated what seems like an endless array of colorways. Nike and LeBron James, for example, launched the #LeBronWatch campaign, which saw some eccentric themes unrelated to team colors hit the court. Additionally, with Nike – the official outfitter of the NBA – introducing two new styles of team uniforms, footwear brands have gotten even more creative in presenting their footwear on their athletes. Not only should you expect more diversity in colors, but there’s a possibility that we’ll see much more customized footwear – similar to the wild creations seen on the feet of NFL superstars.

So, the question is – who will be the P.J. Tucker of the 2018-2019 season, or will he be the sneaker champ for the second straight year?
