Ross Dwyer Since its introduction to the market earlier this summer, Nike’s M2K Tekno has mainly stayed true to its “dad shoe” roots. Simple color palettes and (mostly) understated detailing have been the name of the game for the new/old sneaker — at least until now. The newest Tekno bucks its past simplicity in favor of a jarring look, featuring a bold crimson red upper with bright red nubuck overlays sitting on top of a stripped-back red mesh base. Metallic gold detailing on the toe and heel offer an interesting contrast and add further to the loud design, but the shoe doesn’t forget its roots either — as the simple Monarch-style white midsole and grey outsole remain intact.
