Any ’90s baby has fond memories of Space Jam. Released in 1996, the movie featured Michael Jordan and other NBA stars teaming up with Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny to form the Tune Squad and play the evil Monstars in a game of basketball with dire consequences. The film still holds an esteemed place in both basketball and sneaker culture — look no further than the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11s — and it’s long been rumored for a reboot starring none other than LeBron James. Those rumors are no more though: it’s actually happening, as LeBron’s Spring Hill Entertainment recently took to Twitter to share the first truly official details on the movie — via a picture of a cartoon locker room. Space Jam 2 will be directed by Terence Nance and produced by Ryan Coogler, the man responsible for Marvel’s hit Black Panther. According to the images, the Looney Tunes gang will be back in full force too, with Bugs, Daffy, Marvin the Martian, Tweety Bird and Lola Bunny acknowledged in the image as well. Keep it locked here for more updates on the film as they’re available, and in the meantime check out more about LBJ’s new LeBron 16 while you wait.
