Quickly rising to become one of the most powerful new voices in the world of fast fashion, Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond aims to make clothes with a narrative centered around heritage and activism. Jean-Raymond’s heartfelt designs have been paying off, as he’s has both been nominated for a CDFA Award for Emerging Talent and collaborated with Reebok on everything from the DMX Run Fusion to the Daytona Experiment — a modified take on classic Reebok running sneakers. Now the two collaborative partners are set for their third go-around: two new colors of the Daytona Experiment. One pair features an ultra-luxe black suede base with abstract colorful overlays that call upon everything from tan to grey to pink for a look that’s unmistakably retro. The other pair opts for a more simple route, using a sail leather upper with white leather overlays and green accents on the heel. Each also features a large asymmetrical plastic heel tab, Pyer Moss branding on the medial collar, luxe gold lace tips, and a colorful insole. The striking upper is then corralled by a simple running-style midsole — making sure the shoes are just tame enough for daily wear. Both of the special shoes are set to release globally October 19th for $225 USD, so check out our Where To Buy section below to see where you can secure a pair.
