Founded in 1925, the high-end atelier has made a name for itself with its widespread implementation of fur into the fashion world and its quality bespoke leather handbags, an origin that transitions well into its collaborative capsule.
Retaining Fila’s own design ethos throughout the range of footwear, each silhouette is a bulky piece of kit that plays on the trends set by a few buzz-worthy fashion houses. The tech fabric high-top, much like a few recent releases this season, offers a sock insert encased by stark white leather panels that define the aggressive profile of the sneaker. Balanced visually with contrasting hits of logos on the ankle, the piece maintains athletic brand’s trajectory through an elevated designer lens. Using the same undulating sole found on the aforementioned high-top, the nappa low — which arrives in both black and white — is a more toned down set piece that offers a light yet playful note of branding that doesn’t distract from the piece’s overall minimal aesthetic. Its contemporary upper is reminiscent of some of Fila’s own runners though its luxe fabrication plants it firmly within the high-end realm. Keeping things a bit more casual, the capsule will also include two slip-ons: one whose straps are adorned with a classic monogram leather while the other a bold mink on top of a ripple sole.
Alongside these breakthrough pairs, Fendi and Fila are also presenting a series of apparel and accessories that blends some of the most recognizable aspects of each label. Shirts, hoodies, and track jackets are wholly lifestyle in identity while the selection of handbags align with the designer’s own mainline offerings.
