Since its debut, adidas Futurecraft technology — a 4D-printed cushioning system created using a technology called “Digital Light Synthesis” — has typically been used on high-performance models or in collaboration with long-time adidas partners like KITH or Daniel Arsham. Created to be durable, flexible, and extremely light, the new tech is set to lead the Three Stripes into a bold new era of sustainability and space-age materials. Before that day comes it’ll briefly nod to their past though, as a ZX4000 with a Futurecraft midsole is set to release in November. The new silhouette takes a classic ZX4000 upper, dresses it in a new-age combination of two different meshes, and adds colorful detailing via the accents and overlays. Tan, grey-blue, and neon red/yellow add retro pops of flair, and the layered upper then sits on top of a signature mint green Futurecraft midsole. You can look for this new hybrid from the Three Stripes to release sometime in November at select adidas Consortium stockists. Boston-based retailer Bodega has a retail price of $120 USD listed — but any Futurecraft shoe is usually priced between $350-$450 USD, so stay tuned for more pricing information as it’s available.
