Since it first dashed onto the scene in 1991, Tinker Hatfield’s legendary Nike Huarache has never looked backwards. That forward-thinking ethos is what’s made it so popular in the nearly 30 years that it’s been on the market, and it recently received an alternate modern-day pop of flair via the new Huarache EDGE TXT silhouette. In true Huarache fashion, many of the EDGE’s early releases have featured bold, eye-catching color palettes — but there’s always room for simplicity too, so Nike has now given the shoe a stately black-and-white makeover, complete with new leather detailing on the upper. The sock-like neoprene base is dressed entirely in black, while perforated black leather appears on the toebox in place of the standard mesh. The midfoot’s abstract overlays are dressed in black leather as well, and a large black plastic piece on the heel finalizes the upper’s detailing. White then arrives on the midsole and heel/tongue branded hits to complete the look. If you’re looking for a pair of futuristic-but-not-too-flashy casual shoes, you can expect this Huarache EDGE TXT to pop up on Nike.com soon for $110 USD.
