In an effort to symbolize a heart, Short modified the overlays of the Free Run to create a truly unique product unlike anything else the silhouette has ever seen. Believe, hope, and laugh come boldly printed on this offering’s turquoise midsole as a message of encouragement while playful floral decals adorn its aforementioned overlays. Eight years later, Mackenzie is a healthy 20-year old studying to be a dental hygienist at Umpqua Community College who loves snowboarding in her spare time. Having created one of the most memorable and original Doernbecher Freestyle offerings, Short would like to encourage future participants in the incredible program with a few words, “Don’t be afraid to ask for exactly what you want.” Grab another look at this Nike Free Run 2 and get ready for its return to the Nike SNKRS app via a draw at 10am ET on February 20th.
