Ross Dwyer Since it was first introduced in 1950 to give soccer players solid footing on icy turf, the adidas Samba has become one of the Trefoil Brand’s most beloved silhouettes — and now it’s releasing in an “MS” makeup inspired by the culture of another sport it boasts deep roots in: cycling. Arriving in a light “Easy Yellow” and a simple “Core Black,” the Samba MS keeps the OG shape intact, but adds a few new details: a branded tab on the tongue enables easy on/off, and the midfoot stripes are lifted all the way up to the top of the eyestays, leaving their embroidered outlines on the lower half for a unique branded look. With cycling in mind the shoes pile on new performance features too, as a gusseted tongue and water-repellant suede toe cap ensure the wearer’s feet stay dry in even the most inclement conditions. Reflective laces and a city map graphic on the insole then complete the look.
