De’Aaron Fox Gets His Own Nike Air Max 1 “Swipa” Release

De’Aaron Fox Gets His Own Nike Air Max 1 “Swipa” Release

Rising Sacramento Kings star and noted sneakerhead De’Aaron Fox is known almost as much for his flashy footwear as he is for his impressive on-court exploits, so Nike is nodding to the young guard’s standout style with a unique Air Max 1 “Swipa.” Fox’s Maxes feature a “What The” style makeup, with each shoe calling upon a different color palette for their accents. The left sneaker opts for a burgundy mudguard and an ultra light blue toebox, while the left sneaker combines an earthy burnt orange toebox with a aqua blue mudguard for a style that looks almost Nike ACG-esque. Although the accents are indeed different, the rest of the shoe remains uniform with a black suede quarter/heel, tan tongue, and two different shimmering Swooshes: blue on the lateral side, pink on the medial side. Mathematical equations grace the insole — a possible nod to Fox’s high school algebra teacher, who he credits with sparking his interest in classical music — and his #5 appears on the tongue, while his “Swipa” nickname is embroidered on the heel. A simple white midsole and black outsole then complete the look. This new pair of Nike shoes furthers the Swoosh Brand’s interesting propensity to release lifestyle PEs for their young NBA stars, as it continues a trend last seen on Jayson Tatum‘s Saint Louis-themed Air Max 97s. Check out these “Swipa” Maxes below, and expect a release on May 31st.
