Yes, Donovan Mitchell and Spider-Man have more in common than you might think, and now the Utah Jazz guard is using his new adidas D.O.N. Issue 1 as a nod to his favorite superhero with special suit-inspired colorways like this “Symbiote Spider-Man” makeup. Crafted of mostly leather instead of the mesh found on other models, these new hoop shoes take on a black and reddish-pink color scheme. Sharp-eyed Spider-Man fans may recognize this palette from the original design sketches that were created for Peter Parker’s symbiote suit, stylings that were scrapped in favor of the now-iconic black and white costume. The final design of the aforementioned suit is also acknowledged here thanks to white detailing on the quarter panel/medial midfoot and jagged white teeth on the back of the Bounce-equipped midsole, while co-branded detailing on the tongue and insole complete the look. You can expect these new adidas hoop shoes to release at the retailers listed here for $100 USD on July 18th, so be sure to peruse a gallery of official images below while you wait.
